Keeping track of Qaza

Making up years of missed prayers feels heavy, but small steps add up. Set your total, then press Done each time you complete a Qaza prayer. The bar shows how far you have come, and the plan tells you roughly how long it will take at the pace you choose. For example, 5 Qaza prayers a day clears 5 years (9,125 prayers) in about 5 years, and 15 a day in under 2 years.

Tips

  • Pair each Qaza with an obligatory prayer, so it becomes a habit.
  • Check your local times in the prayer times tool.
  • Use the tasbeeh counter for dhikr after prayer.

This is a counting aid, not a fatwa. For the rules of Qaza in your situation, consult a qualified scholar.

Frequently asked questions

How do I estimate my missed prayers?

Count from the age you reached puberty (or the date you started praying regularly). Use the years-missed box: it gives each prayer one per day for the years you enter. Adjust the counters afterwards if you know more precisely.

Which prayers need a Qaza?

The five daily obligatory prayers, and in the Hanafi school also Witr, which is wajib. Sunnah and nafl prayers are not made up.

When can I pray Qaza?

At any time, except the times when prayer is not allowed: at sunrise, at the sun's zenith and at sunset. Many people add one Qaza after each obligatory prayer.

Should I pray them in order?

Many scholars advise making up the oldest first when you can. Ask a scholar about the rules of order (tartib) for your school.

Is my progress saved?

Yes, on this device. If you log in, it also syncs to your account, so you can continue on another device.

Is repentance also needed?

Yes. Make sincere tawbah for the missed prayers and then make them up as soon as you can. Allah is Most Forgiving.
