Where do these prices come from?
Gold and silver are international spot prices converted into your currency. Currency rates are mid-market rates from a free exchange-rate service. The stock index is the latest quote from a market-data service and may be slightly delayed. Pakistan’s petrol and diesel prices come from a public fuel-price feed and are checked about every 30 minutes. For other countries we enter the official price with the date it started.
Why is the gold rate different at my jeweller?
The jeweller’s rate includes local premium, making charges and sometimes tax. Use these numbers as a fair reference when you compare offers.
How often do the prices update?
Metals refresh about every 30 minutes, currency rates every few hours, and the index regularly during market hours. Press Refresh to check again.
Why does it say the index or fuel price is not available?
A data service can be slow, or the market may be closed. If the fuel feed cannot be reached we show the last known price with its date. We never show a made-up number.
