How to use the tasbeeh counter

Choose the dhikr you want, set a target and tap the big button for every repetition. When you reach the target the counter adds one round, vibrates if your phone allows it, and starts again from zero. Your count is saved in your browser, so you can close the page and carry on later.

Tasbeeh Fatima

Many Muslims say SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times after every prayer, which makes 100 in all. Switch to Tasbeeh Fatima mode and the counter walks you through the three steps and moves on by itself.

Common dhikr and their counts

  • SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar: 33, 33 and 34 after prayer.
  • Astaghfirullah: 100 times is a popular daily target for seeking forgiveness.
  • Durood (salawat) on the Prophet: often 100 times, especially on Fridays.
  • La ilaha illallah: commonly 100 times.

Counts such as 99 or 313 are traditions in some communities. Follow what your teacher or family practises. Plan your day around the prayer times and find the direction to pray with the Qibla finder.

Good to know

  • The page counts only while it is open and the screen is on.
  • Vibration works on most Android phones. iPhones do not allow web pages to vibrate.
  • Your numbers stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What is tasbeeh?

Tasbeeh means glorifying Allah by repeating phrases such as SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah). Many people count the repetitions on prayer beads (a tasbeeh or misbaha) or, as here, on a digital counter.

What is Tasbeeh Fatima?

It is the dhikr taught to Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) to say after each prayer and before sleep: SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times, 100 in total. Choose the Tasbeeh Fatima mode and the counter moves from one phrase to the next for you.

Does it keep my count if I close the page?

Yes. Your current count, rounds and totals are saved in your browser on this device only. Nothing is sent to any server. Clearing your browser data erases them.

Can I count with the phone locked or with the screen off?

No. A web page can only count while it is open. Keep the screen on, or use the volume-free tap and the vibration option while you count.

How do I use my own number?

Choose Custom in the target list and type any number, for example 1000 for durood. Choose Free count to count without a target.

What do the rounds mean?

Each time you reach your target the counter adds one round and starts again from zero, so you can repeat a set of 33 or 100 as many times as you like.

Please note: This counter is only a tool to help you keep count. The reward of dhikr is with Allah. The meanings shown are short translations.
