QR Code Generator

Turn a link, text, WiFi login or WhatsApp number into a QR code you can download as a PNG. It is made on your phone, nothing is uploaded.

Your QR code

Make a QR code that scans first time

A QR code is just your text drawn as a pattern of squares. This tool builds that pattern with a small open-source library running inside your browser, so your link, WiFi password or phone number is never sent to a server and no account is needed. The PNG you download is large (about 1000 pixels wide) so it stays sharp on posters, menus and visiting cards.

Which type should I use?

  • Link: menus, Instagram or Facebook pages, Google Maps locations, form links. If the address is very long, shorten it first for a cleaner code.
  • WiFi: guests scan and join without typing a long password. Camera apps on recent Android and iPhone handle this directly.
  • WhatsApp: shops and home businesses can print one code on a bill or banner and receive orders in chat.
  • Text: a short note, address or any phone number.

Tips for printing

Keep dark squares on a light background, leave the white border, and print at least 2 cm wide. Test with two different phones before printing 500 copies. Because the data sits inside the code, these static codes never expire. See also Image Compressor and Password Generator for a strong WiFi password.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free, with no expiry?

Yes. The code is created entirely in your browser and contains your text or link directly, so it never expires and nobody can switch it off later. Paid sites often make "dynamic" codes that stop working when you stop paying. These are static codes.

Do you store my link, WiFi password or phone number?

No. Nothing you type leaves your device. The page works even with the internet switched off once it has loaded, which you can test yourself.

How do I make a WhatsApp chat QR code?

Choose the WhatsApp tab, type the number (03001234567 is converted to 923001234567 for you) and an optional first message. People who scan it open a chat with you directly, without saving your number.

Which error-correction level should I pick?

Medium is fine for screens and most prints. Choose High if the code will be printed small, on a sticker or on a surface that may get scratched. Higher levels make the pattern denser.

Why does my QR code look very dense?

The more text you add, the more squares the code needs. Use a short link (for example a shortened URL) if you want a simpler, easier-to-scan code.

Please note: Always scan your finished QR code with a phone before printing or sharing it. Keep a quiet white border around it and never place it on a busy background.
