QR Code Scanner

Scan a QR code with your camera or from a screenshot. You see exactly where it leads, with a warning for risky links, before anything opens. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you scan or type is uploaded or stored on our servers.

Tap “Scan with camera”, then hold the QR code inside the frame.

Result

Nothing scanned yet

How to use it

Choose Scan with camera, allow the camera and hold the code inside the frame. Or choose From a picture and pick a screenshot or photo. The result appears at once with a plain label such as website link, Wi-Fi or phone number.

Check before you open

Look at the website name in bold. Scammers print QR codes on parking meters, posters and parcels that lead to look-alike sites, so only open links you expect, and never enter a password or card number after scanning a code you did not choose. To make your own code use the QR code generator.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to scan QR codes?

Scanning is safe, opening unknown links is where the risk is. This scanner shows the full address first and flags shortened links, look-alike letters, plain http and numeric addresses. It never opens anything by itself.

Why does it say my browser cannot scan?

The scanner uses the QR reader built into your browser. Chrome and Edge on Android have it. Where it is missing, use your phone’s own camera app, which also reads QR codes.

Does the picture or camera image get uploaded?

No. Everything is read on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.

Why does the camera not start?

The browser needs your permission, and the page must be open over https (or on localhost). Check the camera icon in the address bar.

Can it read Wi-Fi QR codes?

Yes. It shows the network name and password so you can type them in. Other codes (email, phone, text, map) are labelled too.
