Two jobs in one tool
Count working days between a start and end date, or add working days to a start date to get a delivery date, a deadline or the end of a notice period. Both skip your chosen weekend days and any holidays you list.
Weekend options
Choose Saturday–Sunday (most of the world), Friday–Saturday (many Gulf and Middle Eastern countries), Sunday only, Friday only, or no weekend at all. For plain calendar days use the date difference calculator, or add calendar days and months with the add or subtract days calculator. To turn working days into pay, try the hourly to salary converter.
Frequently asked questions
What is a working day?
A working day (business day) is any day that is not a weekend or a public holiday. In most countries the weekend is Saturday and Sunday. In many Middle Eastern countries it is Friday and Saturday, and some places use only Friday or only Sunday.
Are the start and end dates included when counting?
Yes. The count is inclusive, like Excel's NETWORKDAYS function. Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October 2026 is 5 working days.
How does adding working days work?
The start date is not counted. Adding 5 working days to Monday 5 October 2026 gives Monday 12 October, because Tuesday is day 1 and the weekend is skipped. Use a negative number to go backwards.
How do I enter public holidays?
Type each holiday as a date in year-month-day form (2026-12-25), one per line or separated by commas. Holidays that fall on a weekend are not counted twice.
Does it know my country's public holidays?
No. Holidays differ by country, region and year (and many Islamic holidays depend on the moon), so you list the ones that apply to you.
