How to sign a PDF
Add your PDF, make a signature (draw it, type your name, or add a photo), then tap the page where it should go. Use the slider to resize it and press Sign and download. Everything stays on your device.
Tips for a good signature
- Draw slowly with your finger or mouse, and make it large. The tool crops the empty space for you.
- For a photo, sign in black or dark blue on plain white paper and use even light. The white background is removed automatically.
- Check the preview position before downloading. Pages are shown as you see them, even sideways ones.
What this is, and is not
This adds an image of your signature, like signing a printout. It is not a certified digital signature, so use the service your bank or office names when a certified e-signature is required. Need to fill form fields first? Use Fill PDF Form. Before emailing, shrink the file with Compress PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document or signature uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your signature picture and the PDF never leave your device.
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
It places an image of your signature on the page, like signing a printout. Whether that is accepted depends on who asks for it. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. If a government office, court or bank requires a certified e-signature, use the service they name.
How do I place the signature?
Tap or drag on the page picture. The signature is centred where you tap. Use the size slider to make it bigger or smaller.
Can I sign several pages?
Choose 'Every page' to put the same signature in the same spot on all pages, or 'Last page' for contracts.
Can I use a photo of my handwritten signature?
Yes. Choose Picture and add the photo. Sign with a dark pen on white paper and take the picture in good light so the background turns see-through.
