Frequently asked questions

How does numeric sorting work?

It reads the number at the start of each line, so 2 comes before 10. Lines that do not start with a number are placed at the end.

What is the difference between reversing lines and reversing text?

Reverse line order flips the list so the last line becomes first. Reverse text flips the characters in each line, so “hello” becomes “olleh”.

Does A to Z sorting care about capital letters?

Not by default: apple and Banana sort together as a person would expect. Turn off Ignore case to put capitals first.

Is the shuffle really random?

It uses your browser's secure random generator and a fair shuffle, so every order is equally likely.
